Gift that Keeps on Giving

Several years ago my mother gifted me the best present, the gift of a cake decorating class. With four children whose birthdays are 6 weeks apart, it helped to have one expense taken care of by decorating the cakes myself.  Not long after I finished the class a friend who owned a kids gym asked would I make the cookies and a personal cake for their event birthday parties. There began my green GO (name of the gym) cookies.

These cookies were a huge hit among the birthday parties and word quickly got out that I would make them for any occasion. It is my sons Senior year and we are gearing up for a party with friends to celebrate, and of course my cookies are on the menu. I shared the process of baking on instagram yesterday Famous Instagram Cookie Post

Several people requested to know my secret. Well, the secret is about to be out.

The gift that keeps on giving is….Drumroll please….I use the Wilton Roll Out Cookie recipe.

Then I ice them with the Wilton Butter Creme Frosting

If I have a secret, it is that I use Walmart brand supplies. When my family visits Honduras on mission trips I request Honduran vanilla, but lately I have used Watkins brand. My preference is to use a metal cookie cutter because I think the dough doesn’t stick to the cutter. I roll my cookies out thick because who wants a hard, thin sugar cookie.

Wilton recipes are some of my favorite for baking. The supplies that Wilton makes are quality products. I receive no compensation for this (it is  just my opinion). These cookies are perfect for any occasion & make a great gift. I use cute cutters, decorate and box several for teachers.
