4 Truths from God to Nourish Your Soul

In life we are faced with many curve balls. A diagnosis that is not what we expected, a loss of a a loved one, a global pandemic that stops the world as we know it, a marriage ends, a child walks the road of rebellion, and so many other unknown heavy moments can weigh on our shoulders. There are four truths from God that He offers in any circumstance to nourish to our souls.

We read throughout the gospels New Testament many chapters of Jesus healing the sick. He heals the physical and the emotional hurts of the people that He encountered. The first truth we must embrace when faced with unexpected circumstances is to know that Jesus heals. He wants to heal our hurts today just like He did in the Bible.

The second truth from God that nourishes your soul

is that Jesus loves us. In Psalm 139:13-16 in the New International Version, we read…

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

God loved us before we even came to be. He created us inside our mothers wombs. He loved us so much it says in John 3:16 that He gave is one and only Son so that you could have eternal life in heaven with Him. Now that is unconditional and true love!

Thirdly, the truth that God has which nourishes our soul

is that we are to trust that He is the God who know what tomorrow holds. In our efforts to try to control and fix the things of this world, we must surrender to the fact that God is in control. He knows the numbers of hairs on our heads, and He knows the number of our days because they have been written in His book. We must walk with Him allowing His hands to hold us when the days seem harder than others.

The final truth the we must know when faced with unexpected circumstances is that Jesus has bought our soul. We were purchased by the blood of Jesus to live in eternity with Him forever. If we have not surrendered to that truth today, then now is a good time. (See here for the second place to start after praying below) See the prayer below and ask Jesus to be the Lord of your life today.

Father God, I am a sinner in need of your grace. I ask you today to forgive me for not allowing you to be the Lord of my life. I ask you to take my hand, guide me through this uncertain time in my life. Draw me to you as your most beloved daughter. Let me know your love, your peace. Amen.
