As you face chronic pain, it is easy to get stuck in the rabbit hole of “woe is me”. Jesus offers us five amazing promises to stand on as you face chronic pain. These promises are what keep us moving forward in the face of this pain and fatigue that we face daily. They are the amazing grace that we need to move forward in life with hope. You may be asking yourself so what are these five amazing promises to stand on as you face chronic pain.

Many say that if you choose to stand for nothing then you will fall for anything. I want you to take a moment to consider what are you standing on. Often times we have attended church for many years. We claim knowledge of the Bible, but I would want to challenge you to ask have you studied it yourself? Are you standing on cliches that you have heard others say or truths you know God has said from His Word? What do you choose to stand on today? Let’s take a look at the five amazing promises to stand on from God’s Word.

The First Amazing Promise to Stand On

The first amazing promise to stand on as you face chronic pain is that God loves you. When you are consume in a life of pain day in and day out, you hear the lies of Satan that say you are alone so I am here to tell you first and foremost that God loves yo16 “For God so loved the world,[b] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17 NIV

God loves you so much that He sacrifices His very own Son so that you can have eternal life with HIm, and he wants us to live life with Him forever in heaven. This is the ultimate sign of love that God loves you. A God who loves you enough to give up is one and only Son for you to spend eternity in Heaven with Him does not want you feel unloveable or alone.

Promise Number Two

As we take a look at the second amazing promise to stand on , you know that you are created in the image of God. In the book of Genesis, in the first twenty seven verses we see it written clearly:

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

As a person created in the image of God, we then read a few verses later that He called His creation very good. God is pleased with us as He made us in His image. In a lengthy explaination, we know that because of sin entering the world things are not as God intended them to be-perfect. The fall is where our origin of chronic pain finds itself. We rest in the knoweledge of the amazing promise that we are made in the image of God and He said it is very good (even on our most pain-filled days).

God Will Never Leave You or Forsake You

The third amazing promise of God is helpful to recall when we are feeling low in our pain. Our God promises to never leave us or forsake us just like he promised the Israelites in Deuteronomy 31:6. Moses was telling the Israelites that God was wanting them to be strong and courageous in the face of their enemies. God was going to see them through to the promise land. He was not going to leave them or forget the promises that He had made to them. We too can hold on to this same promise from God. We are to be strong and courageous in Him because God with us throughout our painfilled days.

He is Your Source of Strength

The Apostle Paul said that “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” in Philippians 4:13. God is your source of strength in times of trials and pain. He will not call you into something that He is not willing to fully willing to support you in. You alone may not have the strength to see the situation through, but if you take your focus off of you and put it on the source of your strength which is God you will see that all things are possible.

Finding a source to walk with you through your trials is important to gaining strength. A community of friends who lift you and that hold you accountable as you grow can make a huge difference. Women in the Word is a place where I share my personal experience of doing this life with women in God’s Word. My expereinces have been a blessing to my growth in my relationship with Christ. You will find the same as you connect to women in the Word.

The Fifth Amazing Promise to Stand on as You Face Chronic Pain

The last amazing promise of God to stand on as you face chronic pain is that He will hear your prayers. God promised that if we ask anything that is in line with the character of God and His purpose, He will answer. I don’t know how, I don’t know when, but I do know he will answer your prayers.

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it”- John 14:13-14 a
